HOMERUN AT KC, weekend baseball, tri, bbque, lots of fun!

Cowtown Showdown Baseball Tourney.  The boys had to pose so I got the camera out.  They're crazy!  They also had a blow up maze that kept the boys occupied.

 Here is my "homerun hitter"

Getting ready to put the ribs on.  Scotty just loves this.  He's all about it now and later...
The rub is finished finally...

Beckym is just a bit bored by it all...
they call it "smokin" for a reason...

The kids played at the neighbors swing set
I bet he's chattin' up tri stuff

Lake is visiting with neighbor Meagan
yeah, they had some time for bat and ball

Sunday morning we all left Scott and Christina's home at 6:30, except for Josh who left much earlier.  We had to drive to Lawerance for the race about 45 minutes away.  The weather reports all said rain likely through the day so we had a hard time packing the cars, raincoats...umbrellas...no reason to bring sunglasses but most of us had them along anyways.  It turned out to be a beautiful day, a bit warm but now rain and not full sun all the time which was quite nice.
We actually saw Josh before he got in the water.  We thought he was in, because "red caps" were in the water and that was his color, well he suddenly walked up to us in another shade of a "red cap."  So this is his actual group of athletes in the water.
Wondering how far that really is...it didn't look very far from where we were standing.  The water current was very strong Josh said.  A half ironman is: 1.3 miles swimming, 56 miles biking, and 26.2 miles running, totaling 70.3 miles.
Yes it is a lot of waiting...

Lake thinks he sees his daddy.

Transition area of swimming-biking.

Josh is bent over on the left getting ready to hop on the bike, the worst is over as far as he is concerned.

Well just about missed him in the camera, I like to watch too much, camera taking is a lot of work.  Christina got much better pictures.

There is a bit more but will continue when computer is being nice to me.

Visiting with the only other Sterling participant.

Chels and Josh walked the bike back to the vehicle, it took awhile to get out of Josh's #1 parking space.
