"de ole barn" 6.4.11

This is our neighbor's barn, our front yard view.  We have seen many sunrises creeping up through the large openings of the barn. It has had a long hard life, milking cows, raising hogs, storing machinery and even children playing in and around it in more recent years. If only the barn could share her stories. The other evening it was time for it to come down.  The match was lit and it went down very gracefully.  We were landscaping that evening and saw it start. Rick called our old neighbor, Lee Nunnikhoven, thinking he would want to watch it some.  He has made a model of our barn many years ago which we still have, Rick played with it as a child.  He also made a model of this barn a bit more detailed.  Towards dusk we went and sat awhile sharing memories of that old barn.  Lee had pictures of the model that we looked at while we watched it burn.  The family that lives there actually are coming home from being missionaries for the last couple years at the end of June so it will be a nice job to have behind them.
This was taken the Spring of 2009 before building our home.
This picture was taken when the heavy equipment was moving the earth around a bit.

This was shot last Fall.
