We were given the opportunity to care for one of our grand daughters, Bray while Brandyn and Emily enjoyed a weekend at the Ozarks with friends. We were really too busy for cameras but took a few. She slept 13 hours at night and took pretty good naps during the day, except Saturday afternoon, she chattered 2 full hours in the crib. It rained a lot the whole weekend which messed up our outside activities. The mulberries are almost gone and I was hoping to get some good pictures of eating mulberries with Bray. At bedtime we sang a song that I use to sing to our kids but had to add a bit more to a verse. It goes like this, Who's in the middle of the dark, God is... and keeps repeating. Next verse is, Who's in the middle of the storm and we shout, CRASH, BOOM, LIGHTNING, which I added when our children were small. While singing this verse a "real boom" happened while Bray was pretty much done for the day and we were singing in the rocking chair. Well Myles, our dog started barking real loud and scared Bray quite bad so I kept singing the verse and added BARK, BARK BARK. The third verse is Who's in the middle of my heart, and then we sing, God is, God's in the middle of my heart. The next night as I sang to her again she added the BARK, BARK, BARK. I'm not sure she will forget that anytime soon. Through the years generations have a way of changing things up a bit. It was pretty cute!
She mastered wearing some sandals of mine in the house quite well, it took a little time but she doesn't give up too quick.
For some reason she thought it was a lot of fun to be in Myles' box...Myles thought it was more fun to be on the outside looking in.
A few mulberry pictures from when the others came for a visit. Harper didn't think she liked them at first, but it looks like she's enjoying them now. More of these on Chelsea's blog.
Lots of good conversation and history stories are told on Saturday mornings at our house over cinnamon rolls, juice and coffee. Josh took the early morning bike ride off so he could join us for hot rolls. He makes it out most of the time a little later after he's rode bike.
We read a lot of books at our house. I have all the kid's books from when they were young.
