We started laying the wood floor on February 2, ran out on Saturday the 6th and finished up the evening of the 9th, one week later. Measure...cut...pound...staple...next...measure...pound...staple, mom where's the next piece, where are you at? I had all I could do to open the boxes, check over the wood and stay out of the way, yet have the next row ready for them.
We stapled 15# roofing felt down first to prevent creeks later on, of course vacuumed a lot
Hi guys...are we having fun yet?
At this point we were beginning to feel very old~ up, down, ouch! bend your knees and kneel again
Wow...we are getting somewhere now
I stayed busy figuring out which piece to lay next and making sure all the pieces were okay to use...
sweeping
Brandyn had to sharpen his pencil the "old school" way. He stayed with us at night too, one day we put in about 16 hours straight, yeah just don't ask how our bodies felt the next day.
Our knees are really sore, Josh helped out when he could after work and on Saturday. Brandyn had to play in a snow slow pitch tournament, (you gotta be crazy!) Yes we do have a little snow to play in this year. It probably sounded pretty good to him after laying floor for 4 days.
Stuck Brandyn in a lot of closets, Rick was too sore to squeeze in them, not sure Brandyn felt much better.
working by the front door, Chelsea actually came a few hours on Saturday to help.
knee pads helped a lot but wow our knees, legs, and backs...everything was sore by now
What a great feeling!!!!! We did it! like the girls say, "all done!" It felt really good to get this job out of the
way.
This is the register template for the wooden registers, I hope it's right! The cupboard maker, Brad Terpstra actually made these quick for us and saved our day. We didn't realize we needed to order these long ahead of floor laying so we got fixed up.
Yay! So excited to see "finishing" progress. Hopefully the next few weeks will go by fast, and we can start making your new house feel like home. :) I know Lake can't wait to have everyone together and eat in the new kitchen. :)
