we moved 10.5-10.10

I am astounded by how quickly I can forget all the amazing things God has done and fret about some non-eternal detail of my life.

I could be fretting about the rain this morning but I make the choice not to. God has given all of us much grace, patience and understanding the last few months.
The carpenters came out to work on the house this morning, already left due to rain AGAIN. So they wait, we wait, the crops wait. God shows us everyday that HE is in control and if we frett about it, I don't think HE will change anything...so we continue to pray for yet a good beautiful Fall, (Harvest) and press on with all the other work there is to do.
Last week Monday we decided with the rain we would just make our "move" happen. Emily and I waited for the guys to say "go" and we did. However, the sun later came out and they went to the field. We continued packing boxes at both homes and waited...and waited...and waited. The time flew as we continued packing but by 7 p.m. I told the guys to get home and move the beds. I reminded them that they told us we were moving the beds today. By Tuesday night more furniture was packed up by the guys and Emily and I continued moving boxes, putting away...I ran out of boxes so I waited for Emily to un pack boxes and then I would grab them, go fill them, and bring them in the garage.
We slepted in the lower lever of our home of 24 years till Sunday night, then we went to dad and Judy's home in the lower level. Brandyn and Emily left for a wedding in Ohio Friday morning so we were able to finish up the garage on Saturday, due to more rain. They came home Sunday evening and we were all out.
It is a great feeling to have this move behind me and I know Emily feels great too. She can now unpack every box including her beautiful china and several other boxes that never got unpacked in the rental home. Just for the record, don't have collections and keep "stuff". It's has been a lot of work going through all the "stuff" that we collected over time. We actually burned our letter jackets,, prom and banquet dresses of mine yet, went through scrapbooks of us as kids and went through many school papers and memories of our children. Pictures are great keepsakes, as for the rest...get rid of it sooner than later.
Myles is a bit confused so none of us slept very well last night but looking forward to a better night tonight. Dad and Judy are actually gone a couple weeks, visiting Wendell and Terry and Sam and Nancine, (Judy's sister) and doing a bit more traveling so we are getting comfortable here alone.
Pretty ironic, Wendell and Terry moved to another home this past weekend also, so dad and Judy were able to be of great help to them.

The devotional finishes with this poem.

Overheard in an Orchard
Said the Robin to the Sparrow :
"I should really like to know
Why these anxious human beings
Rush about and worry so."

Said the Sparrow to the Robin:
"Friend, I think that it must be
That they have no Heavenly Father
Such as cares for you and me." Elizabeth Cheney

Psalm 37: 3-7

3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

4 Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:

6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.

trusting= -fretting (don't worry this is not algebra)
Trusting is the opposite of fretting.
Please help me to remember this and help hold each other accountable.

Let the birds of the air remind you today and tomorrow that we do have a Heavenly Father who does take care of us, so we don't have to frett.

  1. I finally feel relaxed. I feel as though I know who I am and where I belong. God has answered so many prayers. Thank you over and over for opportunities, advice, assistance, love and support!
