August 13, 2009 big equipment

We had Brandyn cut the beans down. Does that look like a driveway? The old barn in the background is just across the road at the neighbors. As you can tell we will be off the road a ways.

Bray-Lynne was worried Nana was gonna jump in there and take off with her. She wasn't so sure she wanted to do that. Just wait Bray-Lynne I will take you in the BIG combine next month.

Wow! This thing is big!


We have started the process. We are actually going to build another home down the road a ways. Brandyn and Emily are buying our home and are going to be in the center of all the action. Rick's folks made this possible for us when we started farming so we felt this was the way we wanted to do it too. We have loved being here for many years. We have so many wonderful memories raising our children out here. We will miss being right on the farm but are so happy to let Brandyn and Emily experience the same. We really didn't think the day would ever come that the century farm would continue on. God is awesome!

Trevor Bracken moved the big equipment over here this afternoon. He started playing in the dirt and broke a hose, didn't do much but he DID move a little dirt.

His son said he thought he was going in the pond, it looked a little close to me too.

Rick came out and did a little more mowing this evening. We have been mowing back here all summer not knowing for sure what was going to happen... if anything. We have had many fires, hot dogs and smores out here this summer. Spending time out here praying for answers and God's plan to be fullfilled.

Of course "the girls" came out with us to check it all out and yes take a quick swim. I am such a nature freak. I spend a lot of time by this ugly pond watching the dogs literally turn green. The frogs get really noisy at night and the birds sing beautiful music all day long. We have seen deer and heard coyote in the trees. I have watched the sun come up and go down.

  1. I can't wait to see the house get started! I am a little sad that the old house will not be your anymore but at least its still in the family to continue to build fun cusin time memories!!!
