freezin corn 7.24.09

This year is the first I can remember that I didn't do much of anything it felt like. Everyone helped out with every part of it which made it not feel like a BIG day.
Rick's folks, Brandyn, Emily, and Bray-Lynne, Chelsea, Lake and Harper all came to help and of course memories were made. Rick took dad on a long Ranger ride checking out the crops and more. Lake ran behind the Ranger from the pond all the way home, his favorite thing to do right now. Everyone ate corn during the process and yes we are maybe half done. As big as our family is getting we might have to plant a bigger amount next year. We are back to our old way again. Last year we tried something different, we cut it off raw and then cooked it with water, butter, sugar and salt. None of us liked it as well as our old way. We do it all out in the shop these days with the turkey cooker and rinse tub. We cool it off pretty good out there and have a good time all together.
